The Last Presentation

Well, I open my eyes and Aman is trying to wake me up. I get myself together cause its 9:35 and the class usually begins at 9:30. I quickly dress up and go to class, well lucky the teachers were late by 30 minutes so its not a problem. Begin with our presentation with Alexi, Lionel along with Sophie and Kevin from ISD. I taught personally that ours was the best presentation, we put lots of pictures (nostalgic memories - had to have them there) along with a lot of humor and made it very entertaining for our audience. Felt Great after finishing the presentation with very few remarks. Went to Lunch when it was 10 more mins left for lunch time to get over. Continued with the presentation for the intensive week and I dozed off. Aman again woke me up (for the second time in the same day) and by the time I reached class the presentation already began. I made my way silently into the group talking cause the intensive week was a group excersice and started talking randomly out of no where. Well that went okay too. Later in the day after class, me Aman and Urvashi left to buy swimming trunks.

Midnight Snacks

We were supposed to have a guest from Ubisoft company to talk to us - future game designing students but unfortunately it got canceled and got rescheduled to Wednesday instead. Did basically nothing the whole day, the same download frenzy continued and did zero preparation for the presentation for the next day. Later at the night after all the free time in the morning did we realize that we had to give a presentation for the very first project we worked on when we began college at Supinfogame - creating a board game. And so we begin at 11 in the night and make one of the best presentations we ever made and worked on it till 4 am in the morning. The reason for working so hard on this presentation considering that it wasnt even being marked is that, this was our very first project and with this we all got to know each other, became friends and basically the beggining of everything so it is important. We ate some smith and jones instant noodles in the raw form with out the boiling in the water, broken into smaller parts and tossed inside the packaging along with the masala :| , also had some apple juice all thanks to Harika - the food bank. Some chocolate chip cookies and a pista kulfi in the same night. Finally slept at 4 am in the morning.

Download Mania Begins

Most of my friends were having a hang over cause of last night, hmm nothing important today, just that Deekshith gave me his megaupload account and I going insane downloading loads and loads of stuff.

Mariana's Bday

The only important event today was Mariana's birthday and her dad flew over from Venezuela and we had a big party at Ganesh's place. The theme for the event was 'Indian' so the rule was to wear traditional clothes and she threatened everyone who did not wear traditional Indian clothing will not be allowed into the party. Well, I almost never wear traditional and had nothing but jeans to wear so anyways she didn't throw us outta the party. We had a good time, drank a lot of beer with Soumya, Ankit and Akshata. It was fun to see all the foreingers wearing Indian clothes while a lot of Indians came in casual wear. The party continued upstarits but I didnt go anyways, got too drunk and tired already..

Exams - 21, 22, 23, 24

Kevin asked us to choose a chit of paper each from a bunch of them and we had to model and texture whatever we got within 5:30. I got a sub woofer and well i didn't do a great job with it. The effects of not sleeping the previous night were evident and I was drowsy for most part of the exam except the end when I had to finish it up. The texture was taking a long time and there was very little time left. So i created a texture with just black and white and therefore my whole model was just in black and white. Well.. just hope Kevin likes it... had to get some sleep, woke up around mid night to study a little for the next days exam on production management. All my classmates gathered some information and put it under the common directory so that all of us have access to the same resources which was just what I wanted cause all my notes were scattered due to my bad organization.. Didnt sleep this night either and gave my exam. The exam was intended to be 4 hrs but due to some misunderstanding, we had only 3 hrs for it which is the first half of the day. Wrote it well except the math part of it... which was 9 marks outta the 20 :| so gonna lose a chunk there. Then Alexis gave us a shock by casually saying that... I have all of you have made something intresting for the jury after lunch... And we were like WTF. None of us made any presentation or anything like that and we didn't have any time left either. Had a really quick lunch to begin work on the presentation and slept half of the lunch working on it. The jury had Alexis and Lionel as usual along with Jersey, Matthew and Kevin from animation as well. Sadly Philip was in France at this time so he wasn't around for the jury. We were really worried how this would go but once we started, it all seemed natural and me, Aman and Karl handled it well. It also gave rise to a lot of argument and debate as we had a controversial topic which was Violence in Video Games and as Alexi said in a 10 minute video, we just scratched the cover of the real issue, but everyone was happy over the job we did and we were really happy ourselves cause we prepared and managed a complete presentation in just 30 minutes. Next day was game design exam and cause we didn't know the topic there wasn't much we could have done to prepare. And the exam topic was to create a game design - version 1 with the basic idea of making a game based on the Dhoom series. We had 3 hours to think and come up with the design of the game. I made a game which had elements of racing, role playing and first person shooter mixed in. The rest of the day was just spent playing and doing time pass. Got "I am a perv! and Chankanako" written on my t-shirt by Urvashi cause I wrote some funny stuff behind her dress. Aman and me also went to buy a External Hard Drive and I bought a 1 TB maxtor hdd. Also a funny incident happend at the counter which I wont talk about, Aman got a stuffed toy for Urvashi and also picked up some chicken friend rice and chilli chicken on the way.The last exam was the viva exam of art history. After asking some basic questions on the work I did on The Gupta Art, The Evolution Of Knife And Its Connection With Rituals and a script for a short video. That it, end of exams... The rest of the day we found all of us completely bored for the first time, we have work all the time and now we find ourselves jobless for once and it was weird to handle. Also I began backing up all the personal data on my new HDD which I love :D. Also watched the movie 'L: Change The World' which is based on the Japanese anime series Death Note.

Sunday n Monday

The Sunday went by really quickly.... spent most of the time playing and reading the book Frankenstein cause I have to return it to the college library before college ends which is soon just 2 more weeks left. The whole of next week we have exams and tomorrow is game analysis exam. Thought I would get a proper night of sleep before the exam so slept soon. But as it happens... we've gotten so used to the current lifestyle which involves sleeping quite late at night and waking up just before class and now, even though I tried I couldn't get any sleep :( Don't know when I finally fell asleep but my guess is over 3 am and I never woke up for class ! Pranav came and woke me up and I finally left for the exam. As it happens we had to analyze the game 'Little Big Adventure 2' and the game just wouldent run on my PC. And cause there wasnt any spare PC around, Alexi let me use his laptop and I played the game or tried playing that game half asleep. Took some shady notes and wrote my analysis. Had to print it and... just my luck, the damn printer wouldent print more than 2 pages. And there were others who had to print too like Julian, Pranav, Amol and Siddesh. Finally gave the printed version of my document to Alexi at 5:34 which is 34 minutes late, just before he was leaving back to his apartment ! #:-S Played more, slept a little and began to try out stuff on 3ds max cause the next is the 3ds max exam. I mean tried to practice but most of the night went off in playing DotA and doing timepass on Facebook and Orkut. It morning already and the exam is going to start soon :( I suck at using softwares effeciently and at 3d stuff. Mix them up and you got 3ds Max... which I hate !

Workin n Watching

Okay this post is for 15, 16, 17 and 18 together. So it all began with Phillipe's sound design class. We were made to pick chits from a cap and all of us got different chits which had names of different topics in it and we all had 2 days to compose at least 2 minutes and 30 secs of audio based on your topic. I got psychosis and did some research on that subject and began to work on it. The whole day went like this. Took a small nap and began to work again and basically worked till morning, took a break, got a couple of hours of sleep and back to class again. Worked whole day again on the same sound design stuff and just at the last minute, I over wrote my own files !! Just 30 minutes before we had to submit it, I basically deleted all my work. Whoa showed me the importance of backing up your work man. But luckily I had a backup of an older version and cause I wasn't willing to work on it anymore, I submitted that version. Then caught up with a couple of hours of sleep and work all night again on my Art History project. Finished it by 3 in the morning or so and then watched the movie Baraka which is special cause it had no story, no character or any plot. Just some amazing visuals and well those visuals had a silent story to tell. I was finding the movie long cause there was no story or twists to keep me engaged. Slept off in the morning, skipped of the morning class of Art History, woke up for lunch, met up wid the sir for the afternoon session, went well and spent the rest of the day playing and other stuff. Watched the movie The Exorcist (1973) with Aman and Urvashi. And the last day which is saturday was just awesome. Had no big submissions left, nothing to work on so we had a great time the whole day. Watched the movies Changeling, The Wrestler, The Reader and the korean movie Time all in the same day. Played some great games too. Oh well, one more sunday and the next week is full of exams :| good night :)

11:30 WTF

Today was crazy cause... after sleeping late in the morning yesterday, no one actually woke up for class. Sachin woke me up and the time was 11:30 already, the class started at 9:30! and we woke up at 11:30 almost everyone who was having fun and working last night woke up at the exact same time. Then the industrial design teach Thomas walk in to take a look why their students didnt turn up for class. After that embarrassing incident we all got readied up and went for lunch. Found out that the head of Supinfogame France had come to visit (*damn* just when I am absent), then we had a big group submission for tomorrow which is to write the scenario and events happening in the paper rpg game we are working on. Played some good DotA games with Karl. Played more missions in Company of Heroes. Slept. Woke up at 12. met up with Aman and Julian in the lab. Apparently there was a lot of work left on the rpg story and so I wrote a chapter too. Then discussed some random bullshit like harassment issues (lol) and had a good laugh about it. After that we had a maggie party at 3 in the morning, stole plates and forks from the canteen, made up some maggie and Aman, me, Urvashi and Julian ate up, did more timepass, taught of watching a movie but finally slept.

RPG Storyline

I woke up surprisingly after last nights party. Didn't think I would get up at all. Today was RPG analysis with Alexi and we worked on the storyline of our universe. The universe although the same for all, everyone had a different angle of looking at it. So to clear things up we made a storyline along with a timeline and to get the base right we began with real world events and twisting them and modifying them to make a different situation which was the current time line position of our universe. We began with Iraq's invasion of the US and went on with that. The later part of the day went into making the classes for the game and further into their abilities. Had to e-mail the list by the end of the day and the rest of it was spent playing Company of Heroes and reading Naruto Manga. Also did some basic shopping for the room today. And when I finally go back to my room at about 3 in the morning, it is full of my friends from ISD who are working on their sail boat project. They built up some stuff, put plaster all over the floor on the size and structure of the boat etc. and I came in, donned the role of a photographer, clicked a ton of pics, then put them up on the PC and laughed at them. And in the process spent one more hour. So its 4 am in the morning now and I finally sleep.

Suday n Sameer's bday

The day went by pretty fast, if you ask me and i was sleeping most part of it. Already 1 pm lunch time by the time I woke up and after lunch I slept again. So basically slept the whole day. The only other two things I did was working seriously and finishing my art history project and going to Sameer's bday party in Ankits - Nikhils room and getting drunk and dancing the time off. It began at about 12 I guess but I came in only at 1 and stayed up till 3. Spend some more time here and there and finally slept at 4 in the morning.

Hard Rock

Ahh the long cherished holiday ! Finally we have a Saturday on which we are not working in he lab for another big submission. The day was pretty chilled out. Woke up as usual, just up for lunch, then did nothing much but time pass for some more time in the lab. Aman and Urvashi morphed my picture into female bodies :| then we all went to pune. Sam had to buy helmet and some other bike gear, then off to hard rock cafe. This was the first time I came to this place and it was quite chilled out. The music was a bit too loud though, we had a awesome huge legendary burger with fries. Later joined in by Aman and Urvashi, dono where they disappeared to... had some coke and also a mocktail which i think was rum + sprite + lemon + mint leaves. Left back to campus, had some vodka and watched the movie Rachel Getting Married in the gaming room.

Company of Heroes and La Confidential

Woke up 1 hr after the class actually began. Woke up at 10:30 in the morning and hurried to the Art History class. Umm we had a brief down on all the assignments we had to finish and outa them I finished none. Philip gave me a small lecture to be on time to class but let me sign the attendance sheet anyway. After the lunch I dozed off and again was late but 30 mins late this time. I asked Philip if I could sign but :( he wouldent allow me to. Well i was late so... Hmm the rest of the day was spent in playing Company of Heroes which I am a total noob at. Watched the movie LA Confidential with Julian, which was a movie released back in 1997 and was pretty good.

Pet Shop Hop

Today was Lionel's class on Interactive DVD. We analyzed the gameplays that can be adapted to the remote controller of DVD player. Then we had to take any game and make a document showing the different load screens and how the story would evolve if played on a DVD player. Also there is no save system on a DVD player so we had to mention that it requires password based progression. I tried to adapt the game Pet Shop Hop to the DVD player but found it very difficult to make. Anyhow, i sent off the document to Lionel on e-mail. Then worked on Art History assignment on the evolution of the shape of knife. Watched the movie 8 Mile and finally slept at 5 in the morning.

Sound Design

Today was sound design after a long gap. The last time we had sound design, we recorded some sounds which we made outta random objects. Today we had to compose a small audio file using those sounds in Adobe Audition. The whole day was fun as we spent time listening to the sounds we recorded and inverting them, stretching them and giving all sorts of effects and making them into completely different sounds. We were supposed to make it 2 minutes 30 seconds at max, but most of us made mixes lasting less than one minute. I was too tired so i dozed off after class and skipped dinner again and by the time I woke up it was 10:30. Got myself two Mango Kulfis cause i was starving and began to work on my Audio file again. Also wrote the scenario setting for the Rpg game and e-mailed it to Alexi before 12 as usual.

More Analysis

As I said, after working for 29 hrs continuously yesterday I finally slept at around 7 in the evening and after that it was complete blackout. I woke up again at 4:30 in the morning cause I remembered to set the alarm on my cell phone yesterday as I still had work to finish on my MMORPG game analysis and also the AC was making the room freeze so I snapped out of sleep. Then when I came up to class I found that 5 out of 6 of my class mates were working all night long and were still in the lab. Aman went to sleep then and I began to work then. Worked on it till morning and then 9:30 again no food and today class begins, which again is about game analysis and this time, the work is supposed to be submitted by the end of the day itself and the game we are given is the demo of the original Company of Heroes which released back in 2006. Well the game was pretty awesome and I loved it. The problem was I spent too much time playing it and not working on the analysis... At the end of the day I had something far from a finished document. At request, Lionel agreed that the max deadline for the submission of this would be 12 mid night and that was the end of class. After that, I was supposed to work on it but again, the the amount of time left made me relax and before I know it, it is 11 in the night. Been playing DoTA all along with my friends and still havent worked on the analysis. I begin to work again at 11 and do some last minute additions and send off the document at 11:56, four minutes before deadline. I just hope it shows the right time in Lionels PC so that I am within the 12 o clock limit. Watched a movie called 'Tandoori Love' and also put my clothes in the washing machine after about 1 month or so...

29 Hrs

We had RPG analysis. RPG analysis doesn't mean the RPG video games but the old paper RPG games. In the morning we did a brainstorming session of ideas and each of us came up with something that we will be working as a team to make. We all came up with some ideas and then shortlisted it to fit into the required RPG game we are gonna make. Then we worked on the story, its time period and world conditions. That's it for today's work. Have to sleep as soon as this class gets over. Almost feeling like fainting... We also have to work on the MMORPG genre case study which we need to submit tomorrow. So now that it is the end of the class, it is 29 hrs of continuos working!

Humid Night Out with the Masquitoes

One of the most insane days of my life... worked the whole day on Abode Audition on reworking audios and cleaning them. Then the rest of the time on more research on the MMORPG Case Study. As evening drew close we all began working on the video report of violence in video games which went on and on and on till 9:30 in the morning. Been surviving through the night on bits of chocolate and little redbull from Sam cause I skipped Dinner. Hungry, sleepless, tired and working in a frenzy with sarcastic hysterical laughter to feel lighter. Finally we do something which we can show as our work and the class for the next day begins while I still in the lab with the same clothes, without brushing my teeth or anything else for the next day.

Audio Work

The whole day consisted of a lot work, on a lot of different things. To begin with, I had to clean up the audio files and reduce the noise in the background, so I was working with Adobe Audition for most of the day. Also got my fifth Sim card, don't know the reason my last Sim card got fucked, so got a new one again.

Fast and Furious

Today is Art History, which i conveniently didn't wake up for. By the time I woke up, It was already 12 noon. Spent the rest of the day doing time pass, tried to work on audition a bit. Then me, Aman, Inder, Soumya, Sameer, Anshuman, Karan, Rahul and Urvashi squeezed into Alexi's car so that we can get a lift to the movie theater. We were going to watch Fast and Furious 4. Reached the place, watched the movie, had a good time, wandered on the streets which felt like forever, had cheese dosa at a dosa on wheels place, ran crazyly on the roads with Soumya for no apparent reason and finally caught a autorickshaw. Came back to college by 11 which was soon enough.

Study Case

Today is case study with Alexi. The last time we had a case study class, we did a presentation by the end of the day on your favorite genre of video games. So similarly I was expecting to be asked to make another presentation by the end of the day. But no, that wasn't the case. We had to research and make a file with everything related to MMORPG back from Its history to its current state today, how it works, its economics and the market for it. So we began researching about it. Consumed the whole day but my work is not done yet, it isn't my work if it wasn't done at the last moment so gonna be working before its submission as usual i guess.

Report

Woke up and began to work on the Game Analysis Report which I haven't worked on since Monday. Started from scratch and listed out everything i had to write. The rest of the day went in similarly too. Everyone was just working on the report. I finished at 4 which and was the first to e-mail it off to Alexi. The rest finished after about 1 and a half hour and i chatted this time off. Also watched the movie 'The Corpse Bride' today.

Shoots

The whole day of today was dedicated to finishing pending previous projects. Worked the whole day on the Video Report which we are making on 'Violence in Videogames' aka project ViV as we call it. And took some shoots of Prateek, Mariana and Inder. Again went to the bar to eat chicken fried rice with Harika. Slept early to wake up early so that I can work on the game analysis report we had to submit the next day.

'Little Big Adventure'

Today we had game analysis with Alexi. We were given the game 'Little Big Adventure' to analyze and submit a analysis report by Wednesday 5:30 pm. The whole day went by playing the game. It was a pretty good action adventure which came out in 1994 for MS DOS and was sorta innovative in many ways. Another thing about this game is that the audio of the game was entirely composed by our teacher 'Philippe Vachey'. Went out to eat at Ganesh's bar later for dinner and also met Soumya's dad today. Had a big brainstorming session on designing a sail boat for India in Inders room. Played a clan match later in the night and the end of the day.

Wasted!

Today just flew off. First off the day didn't begin, it just continued from where I was in yesterday's blog post. I finished updating my blog and didn't really feel like sleepy so I stayed up and watched the movie 'HellRide'. Then I finally slept at 7 in the morning. Woke up for lunch, played DoTA and slept again. Didn't do anything again. Another holiday. Did some basic shopping. And in the end of the day helped Anshuman, Karan, Inder and Sachin's team a little with their sailboat project. Read more 'Naruto Manga'.

Nice holiday

Nothing important or interesting about today. Just a good holiday, woke up late, direct to lunch, good games, played till long with Harshal and the biggest task of updating my blog with all my posts which i have been lazily writing on text files instead of directly uploading thim... grrr its finally done and i am at the last post and its 5 am in the morning!

Not too good

For 25, 26, 27 - Fell really really sick. Got a cold cough throat infection and fever. Ummm missed my friends and family the maximum during this time. Reminds me of an old incident, almost about a year ago during the same season. I was ill and my parents were out to work. My sister was at her friends place as well and i was alone sick and in a bad state. I don't really remember how but when my friends got to know that i was sick and wasn't eating any food, they came to my house with a watermelon, cut it into pieces and forced me to eat. I also remember that when my sister came back home, she fed me the lunch I skipped. Now looking back... I dont have anyone to feed me but not necessaryly feeding... but just the feeling that I don't have anyone around to take care of me like that... I guess that's part of my "i want to live away and alone" style... and also that now I need to take things more seriously not just acting adult cause i am 18. Haven't been attending classes too much, so spending a lot of time reading the 18 century novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. Got air conditioning fixed in my room today although that doesnt help too much when it comes to my cold and cough though. Art history today was about Ritualistic Art which went beyond my head for the most part of it. Lot of things going on in my head at the moment... At the night, had a ideas brainstorming session for Arthur,Trish and Rahul on their project of designing a economic Nokia cell phone which was interesting. Had a lot of ideas which we had to write down on post-its and later had to explain them one after the other and stick them on the board. Well the smoking and the booze was a bit eventual along with the brainstorming session though.

SickO

Gave an okay presentation. Rest of the day looked into production management. Feeling really sick. Got cold, throat infection and feeling really weak. Missin my friends and family who would have taken care of me in these conditions. Gonna sleep well tonight at least.

Grrr more work

3ds max wid Kevin. Did okay. Had to animate a foot ball in the first part of the day. Tried animating a model pre done with bones for 3 poses but failed miserably and also looked into a bit of lighting. Rest of the day worked long and hard on the presentation for tomorrow for both Animage and Intensive Week.

Nothing much about today.... watched the movie "Marley And Me".Reminded me of my bruno and nemo and the others dogs I raised...

End of the Intensive Week

Skipping the rest of the days of the intensive week which was a night mare for me. After that watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Scarface - movies which were pretty good. Played a lot of good DoTA matches winning all or most of them. Started reading Frankenstein.

Intensive Week

First day of intensive week. Wasn't too bad. Found out what we had to do and was quite surprised. Also watched the movie the dead zone.

Pre-Holi

Err didn't remember to write what happened on the previous days so... skipping to now... well its Pre-Holi and i got dragged into a water Holi fight in college and we all played a lot with just water. Then we went to each of our friends rooms getting them out and pouring water all over them. We played in the front lawns etc. Threw condoms filled with water at each other :| !. then.. we basically flooded every floor in our hostel with just plain water. Got a small lecture from the warden on the thing... and walked away as she began to speak. Then I Harika and Sameer went into Harika's room and we took a sort of shower or more shower fight with the shower (2 showers) in her bathroom. Soon joined by the rest of the gang. Called out Mahesh saying there something wrong (dont remember but i think it was fire or something like that) and as soon as he came out grabbed him and put a bucket full of water on him. I left to take a bath in the middle of the night cause I started to shiver because I was completely drenched and the weather was really cold. Wow the pre-holi bash got me a cold. No idea what is going to happen tomorrow... its holi in the resort opposite the college "manali resort".

Psycho-logy

Did a very critical brainstorming and discussion with our art history sir ranging on a very huge list of topics all linked to video games, movies and psychology etc. Went to Mumbai to attend Ankits party.

Good Day

Well art history and that's all. Narrated one of those old scary camp fire stories. Enjoyed till late night in the gardens of the college and watched the movie blindness.

Bunk

We had 3ds max again today and it was making me sick. I suck at 3ds max and was finding it very complicated. So I told Kevin and took the day off and slept in my room for most part of the day. Also again spent time reading "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" by Robin Sharma.

English n Modeling

Woke up quite late today. Almost at quarter to 10. Had the English exam at 10 in the dining hall. So I gave my English test which i think went ok... umm the later part of the day we had 3ds max course with Kevin (hes a cool guy who teaches us wearing baniyan and pyjamas). We had the option of modeling either a tower or a gun, he said the guys who felt were more comfortable using 3ds max could model the gun while the others could model the tower. I did the tower modeling obviously but i wasn't successful at texturing it properly. Started reading the book "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari".

Presentation on Fav Game

Had a surprise presentation on your favorite game and its genre. I chose DoTA but screwed up badly cause I focused too much on the subject of DoTA instead of speaking of RTS games and its history or talking about different types of RTS games. The others choose - Nikil - god of war, Pranav - Roadrash, Aman - half life 2, Karl - diablo, Sam - half life1, Julien - Lands Of Lore. Then was the mad rush to finish the project for tomorrow in 3ds max. And I hate 3ds max cause its just too complicated!! we need to make one whole room from the college, any one with all the furniture and details.

The Art of making Movies

We were supposed to have production management on video report but for most part of it we focused on looking at short clips of movies and the shots and the art of movie making and all the people involved in it. We looked at saawariya, fashion, lagaan, touch of evil.

Boring

Woke up at 1 30. Got a message for Julien. Went to the bar to have some food and beer. Had a big discussion/arguement with the principal regarding all the food regulations.

Presentation

Extremely sleepy. Didn't sleep the whole night. Ate breakfast and sat for class. The class was supposed to be a formal presentation of each of our scripts. I nor my group worked one bit on the script cause we went to MIT and other stuff. Well but i gave a presentation of the work i made on the kid and got interesting response. Also we got assigned to the next project of ritualistic art and how it evolved. It soon became a group discussion of various topics as we went on speaking of innocence of the pup in my story to extremists. I had to sleep was just too tired and sleepy. Woke up in the evening didn't do anything as such, watched wwe royal rumble and that's it 4 the day.

First Attempts At Script Writing

Personal work in the morning and art history in the evening. We still haven't finalized the script for our 5 minute short movie. The last time we did we made a lot of changes. The basic story was still the same which was bout a group of college going teenagers getting drunk at a party, having a lot of fun and then the power go off. Madly they wander and that would be the comedy part. Slowly they would come back to their normal senses only to realize that its 6 in the morning and the power is not back and neither is the sun. Its seven and the sun hasn't come up and so on and this was the horror part. The problem was that the movie was drifting into a serious horror end world thing. Its not that we cant showcase it, its just that in case of something like this the change in the movie which is a very short film will be just too dramatic. The next idea i came up with was with the same beginning of a group getting drunk. They joke laugh and drink and when one guy would be drinking, someone cracks a joke and unable to retain the alcohol or whatever in his mouth because of the sudden urge to laugh at the joke, he spits it all over the in front of him. Now this guy is a big hot headed one whose drunk as well. He is really pissed off now, gets up grumbling ready to punch the shit outa this innocent lil guy. He comes close just a sec before he punches this guy just drops off grabbing his own neck. Theres a lot of other drunk people around too and all of them watch this lil guy spit beer or whatever on the big guy. They all see him walk up to him. Nobody sees him hit for real but the next instance, this lil guy is down on the ground and everyone just assumes he hit him bad. Everyone rushes around him, they think he is dying and then add some cut scenes like one of them calling up for the ambulance and someone else calling up the police. One thing everyone decides on was to lift him up and take him to the hospital. They grab his body randomly and try to pull him up when they are shaky themselves. The lil guy was actually choking on the beer and sudden actions like laughing and shock/fear. There was a lil beer stuck in his throat which was clearing up and when he realizes whats going on, he tries saying that he is ok but the crowd isn't ready to believe him (weird?). One of them says "dude your are dying let us take u to the doc" and this guy bursts out laughing. Everyone is just plain confused but act headstrong and force him to go to the doc. This guy realizes that they think he's dying and starts laughing (*high*). Then some added abuse saying "duffer u r dying don't freakin laugh". Then at this point, the power goes off. everyone leaves him... he falls on the floor flat... no body moves. Its dark but still there is dim light. One of them takes out the mobile for some light and the others do the same... this lil guy still doesn't move. In his head he's thinking... if i act dead they might not take me to the doc, but then he thinks if he acts dead they might just as well bury him. So he gets up with a jerk... and in the darkness everyone assumes he is a ghost or something like that and run for their lives. Now while writing these stuff down i got the idea goes something like this... everyone is trying to get away from this guy thinking that he's some phantom or watever. This guy is alone in this room, everybody ran off... now from both points, one from the others angle and the one from this guys angle, I taught it could be intresting to show this guy whos looking for his friends and trying to prove that he's not a ghost and at the same time, his own friends trying to get away from him (possibly get rid of him) while all of them are drunk. Then the end would be how they almost kill him (he survives unlike most horror movies). Well but last week we taught about this and decided that there are a scenarios in movies which are quite similar to this one. Then we taught of how to change, adapt and improve this. Well we got some crazy ideas in the process. A few weeks back there was a lil tension in the air in the middle of the night as a guard just walked into a girls room in the hostel and he was drunk. There was big issue that night but anyway we saw the next day a circular on the notice board that the guard "xyz" has been removed from his position. This guard had only one thing to say in defence which was that he saw a bottle of beer in the room and went in only to investigate. So i wondered if this guard wanted to take revenge and he also knows that there is some alcohol in the room, he might spike it. And lets say he already spiked it and when everyone is drunk, this guard just pops up and taunts them saying that they drank some weird chemicals instead of the normal thing and he runs away. Now watever they drank have effects on these guys. And the effect are not the same to all, infact each of them have a differnet effect, like one of them has to pee every 2 mins, one of them goes crazy if he sees white, one of them starts sweating rapidly or stuff like that. Mariana suggested that it wuld be funny if someones sex organs just keep growing without stopping. Hehe that would be weird but anyway she's just a crazy girl. So the story continues as they begin to search all over the place for this guard to find a cure and how they finally survive from those deadly chemicals. Well thats all the work we did until now, havent worked on it further on. Today we also listend to the stories that the other groups in the class came up with. Pratik's group came up wid the idea of a small kid who has a weird phobia. He has the fear of people. He is gets scared evertime someone comes close to him. In his head he fears people, that people might hurt him. He gets nervos when someone is coming closer. He frets and panics when you continue to go closer and futhermore he can get agressive and hurls objects at the person closing in on him. It was an intresting idea which got my attention. All of us added suggestions and other ideas to this. He said that the kid wouldent let the nurse come close to him. Aman made this nurse into a slutty nurse who wanted to play around a bit with this guy. He also had this idea (not very sure bout this cause everyone contributed but most probably this was Aman's idea) that the would go around treating patients in differnent rooms and this kid would observe from the distance. Although the nurse is healing the patients, from the kids point of view, she is just a person who has fun torturing other people and he was scared she would do the same to him. Well i had my own ideas running in my head thinking of turning this into a full fledged complete 1 hr 30 mins kinda film or maybe even a series or something. Well the result is the next post.

3DS MAX

Woke up a bit early to work on the 3ds max assignment and worked a bit on it, but really messed up and made a bad model. Looked at textures, importing and placing textures on objects and stuff like that. Later we played some DoTA. Watched the movie Billu Barber.

MIT

Got a bit late to class cause i was too sleepy. Gave the final burnt CD - our first project. Had our first 3ds max class this morning. I was finding it quite complicated. Got our first assignment of making a table with a computer on top along with a chair to be finished by tomorrow. After that we were planning to go to MIT college cause there was Quasar - their college fest going on there and we had a video report project to do and this was a chance to interview some gamers there. The place was cool, with a lot of chicks, big lawns and gardens and AC/DC playing at a decent volume from the background. Collected a few guys and filmed a short interactive session from violence to video games and everything in between. Spent some time on their front garden doing nothing. Came back to college and took some time off, desperately need a holiday after that project which was just insanely grueling. But it also taught stuff like planning before hand and expecting the unexpected and listing of tasks and assets and preparing for in-eventualities... was really upset cause one of my best friend is getting married the next day and i couldn't attend... cried a bit and slept off... forget bout the 3ds max assignment for the moment...

The End of The First Game - Computer Invasion

After sleeping late in the night, i didn't manage to wake up by just the alarm. I think i woke up shut it down and slept off but without realizing. Just an hour before class I realize all the stuff I had to do and begin to work very fast on it. We were then told that the deadline to help us has been further pushed till 12:30 noon. I finish my work, my team mates finish theirs too as much as we could. And after lunch we got our game validated and found a long number of remarks. We were again given the job of polishing it by tomorrow morning 9:30. Ohh boy... this didn't begin well...and neither did it end... I continued working on my stuff, got a bit lectured as well. The document was rather tricky cause it had to be made into a booklet and to achieve this we had to print double pages with text placed in a manner that it would be chronological and make sense which u fold it up and make the booklet. Amol was very helpful to make me understand how it is done but i still failed to get it right, the printing was the really the tricky part. The other team in our class already wasted bout 50 copies of their manual to get it right. So they were done with that task, so i could use some of their experience so i took Aman's help in getting the documents printed in the right manner. Well took help would be an understatement. Umm a big understatement in fact... I was just sorta supervising what had to be done and he did the work from editing to polishing and printing and staplering it (staplering his fingers a few times in the process) and after wasting some 20 copies of the manual we just gave up and used the final one which we printed. Finally at 4 in the morning the printing job is done. Now I go looking for Nikil just to find his room open and him sleeping. So i burn the CD up myself re-burn it to make a backup and for a small change which had to be made to make it up as much near to perfection as possible. Well it was a learning experience... showed us the importance of the Game design doc, technical design, art design and planning and the level of detain for each of them...

Supposed to be the last day of Production

Aaaahhh the last day of production. Sweat glands bursting, blood pressure high, things left to do, time dead line and a heck lot of pressure. And fuck! its the end of the day and our game is not ready yet. But no the deadline isn't today, its tomorrow. It buys us some time to finish it up but that also means one more day of annoying work. Damn work. This day didn't end with this. Went into my room at bout 1:30 to sleep cause i had to wake up early to finish some work. But i spent off chating with my room mate Anshuman some 1 hr 30 mins from everything bout gals, relationships, education and friends. Its become more of a habit cause this is the only time we get to talk. While talking he remembered about a gal and upon my insistence to call her up, he realized that he lost her number. And lol at 1:30 in the night he borrows my cell phone to call up his sis to ask her if she has her number. And when her sis asks why he says to make a formal relation proposal!! i mean wtf. First he calls up his sis at that hour and wants her to find him that gals number. He hastily adds at the end to not tell mom and cuts the call. Heheh.... slept off by 3 am.

Carnival-O-French

Was too busy to write a single note on each day, so this note is for the four days 19,20,21,22 of feb. Four days nothing but work to do, listing , updating, meeting and getting shouted at were the words of the day. At the end of the 21 though there was a surprise party. It was carnival time in France and my french friends wanted to celebrate it. So they all dressed up with every kind of weird stuff we could find and went on to shout scream and make some noise. Went to the bar had some beer and bhang and some food too. Danced a bit made a lot of noise... well had fun. 22 Sunday was again work work work but it took me 2 in the after noon to wake up in the first place. Went to big bazaar to do some basic shopping in the college car. Worked till 4 this day :( and tomorrow is the last day of our first production.

Quarantine

Umm woke up... 10 minutes for class to start ... both my roommates in line for the bathroom... no point waiting... took my brush went into the lab and brushed in the lab's bathroom ! hid the brush behind the curtains acting as if nothing has happened at all... Production Management, the class began with a small presentation of the game New York Racing by me and Karl. Then we went on to finish last classes presentation. After that a small course on the basics of flowchart. We were supposed to finish it but cause none could finish it by before lunch we sent in the working progress and had to finish it by next Monday. Next up is English and the previous tests papers were released and i scored the highest 40. Gave one more English test which i did contrastingly bad (mostly guessing). Found out that we are gonna have a test in every class from now on. went to my room cause i was feeling a bit sick. Then called up to class by Pranav as the teachers were looking for me. Got lectured and got my marks cut by 15 outa 20, not really sure why got the 5. Pissed me off quite a bit. Then played some games with Karl, Nikil, Pranav and Sam. Tried a bit of the old Warcraft 3 after a long time. Went to sleep at around 1, but couldn't sleep. Came back up and watched the movie Quarantine which was a horror and I liked it. It ended by 4 and so finally I sleep at 4 in the morning. Not a very good day...

Time

W had to work on Animage 09 today and also a review of what we have finished and what we are yet to do. It went kinda tense cause even though we are working things out, we also need to make documents and update stuff and also with the new marking system. Most of us got their marks reduced with the new system as it penalizes based on your punctuality. Which is 1 mark for every minute absent which is really harsh. I got a 16 which is not too good but Sam who worked really hard on the flash coding got 9 marks reduced outa 20 cause he was 9 minutes late which i think is really really harsh. The next part of the day we continue to work on our project as usual.

Building a Camera and Shooting at the Same Time !

We had project development overview width Philippe Segard. As he said planning on making the game and making the game at the same time is like shooting a movie and building a camera at the same time. The video game industry has a mix of movie/t.v artists and computer programmers/geeks so it has mixed terminology like pre/post - production like in movies and alpha/beta stage like in programming. Again from his career experience we took a example project which was new york racing based on the movie the fifth element, again a license based production without a publisher. This project was co-produced by Kalisto - developer and the license owners. And heard three different stories of three different people in the game industry as examples.

Rest

Best day of the week. Slept all day long and watched harry potter and the philosophers stone and the goblet of fire - extended edition.

Scripts and Movies

Woke up late. Late by an hour to art history class. nevertheless was allwoed to sit it and got my attendance signed as well. mm some brainstorming of ideas for the short film we had to work on. Got my idea and Karls as well selected. Have to work on a basic script for it till next weeks class. The rest of the day was good too, watched the movies speed racer and Okariki Orkaru. There was a small fight between the students and a guard. Allegedly the guard who was drunk went inside one of the girls rooms without knocking or anything claiming to have seen a beer bottle inside.

A lil BooZe wont Hurt

Basic day of work. Worked on the game design. Nikil came up with a new idea to make the game end a lot faster. And although i wasn't very enthusiastic about it , after 3 games of testing i felt it worked out just fine. He also came up with a few good mixes of slagsmalsklubben. Slept off the night in the bar cause Berrie's parents came to meet her from france and after that a lil smoking to end the day.

Forecast-Plan-Prepare-@_@...

Production Management in relevance to our current project. Presentation in the usual format. Also the results of the previous test, got 17.5 outa 20 which i think is okie :), then as the presentation went on, we discussed on how to be prepared in a unpredictable industry like gaming. A quote Philippe presented during this was "Not forecasting is already groaning" which made me think... The second part of the class was a analysis of what we are doing, how its going, how is the planning etc, this was important for me as my new role of production manager. Had a meeting with Lionel, about resource management and milestones and the deadline. Listened to some sound tracks for our game with Nikhil. Discussed with Amol and Siddesh for their next milestones. Just went on, a good day of work.

Bridge outa Sticks

Today we had Project Management again and for this Philippe began with a presentation and Julien was lost in his own thoughts. When he observed this, we began discussing what was in Juliens mind, which was the video report they had and we went on about how to plan a shoot with a person dividing responsibilities and also to have a planed document ready for this post production parts as well. Back to the presentation, more on creativity and and a small exercise to make 3 circles and analysis of how each actually organized these 3 circles reflecting on being creative not when just when asked but being creative all the time, subconsciously in the mind. Then we did another exercise which was to make a bridge in 30 minutes out of 50 wooden sticks without the help of glue or any external material as such. The exerecise was to help us develop team building skills and how to manage time. But most of us were just working on our own idea but somehow accidentally in the end we came up with a good idea and we were able to finish it in about 45 minutes and we won. Then we did a analysis of what we did, what we should have done, what went wrong and comparing it to the other team. And end of the class.

Testing Testing n more Testing

Some mind blowing testing... The guys testing the game were me and Nikil. And it was funny because my style of gameplay and his style of gameplay were completely different. I am a more strategy oriented kinda player and he was more of a FPS stlyle of a player. This contrastiting diffenece helped in fine tuning the gameplay of the game we were working on to suit everyone and to try and get some balance in the game. Finally came up with a fitting idea so working on it...

License

We have project management with Philippe Segard today. We began the day with a test of how much we understood of the previous presentations. Then moved on to a presentation to analyze and understand how licensing works in the video game industry by looking at previous examples from Philippe's career. The second part we continued with the presentation and looked closely at the games tintin and virtual ski break. Some really funny incidents today were the game design document of tintin had something called the jump of joy which became the laughing stock also when Pranav sleepyly murmured something Philippe came and asked what and he said "errr stongly?" and Philippe said yes absolutely correct strongly and we were like WTF! it was a completely random attempt by Pranav and that was somehow realated to the topic we were discussing on and we tried to control laughing during class but as soon as the class finished we were rolling on the floor laughing. For the dinner , it was shit so we went to Ganeshe's bar, had some beer and chicken fried rice.

Ahhh.... finally, one day without work. What would have been a nice lazy Sunday otherwise.... WTF am i dreaming!, i m still on campus. Basically translates meaning that the workers had a field day next to my room. The fucking noise of the machines and building their lift made me go crazy. Almost the whole day proved useless as we felt their hammers right next to our head. Finally it stopped and then some good DoTA matches and the end.

5-min-mov

What would have been a lazy Saturday was replaced by work cause of this project. Oh well anyway the day began with art history. We saw two interesting videos. Both were pretty good, some points of which reflected my thinking and others opposing it. After discussion on those videos, we wrote down whose interested in which department in the field of making films cause we are supposed to come up with a short 5 minute film as a assignment. And off to lunch. After lunch some more working and some DoTA after long time.

Marketing jokes

Worked on the game the first part of the morning and for the second part we had a fun art history session. The topic was out of box and Julien wrote a "small" note on this which was read out by Harshal. Following complicated discussions on this lead to various things, several stupid and others even more complicated like the theory of relativity, boxes in boxes concepts, parallel universes and string theory. After this we were given 5 minutes to come up with a commercial for marketing our school. And we had some really funny ones from Harshal, Nikhil, Sam and Mariana. Can't mention them on my blog though, but they were really hilarious :D. Thats it 4 today.

Work

Lot of brainstorming - new ideas - progressive testing and tuning was today's work. Really tired after all this... woke up at 12 again to start working on the art history paper and the game design document.

Shoutings n Coffee

The first part of the day we had a history of video games in the economic point of view presentation and I was almost sleeping in the class. Well not exactly because it was boring, but because I slept at 5 am in the morning the previous night. After this we had a English class, before which I wanted to take a small nap and slept off. When I woke up, I was pretty late already, so I just went to class and everyone else was already done with their test and were getting their papers corrected. I took 2 easy tests and i was free to go. Then... the awakening... we had a meeting to review our progress in the current project. Got a good verbal beating, reviewed at our progress, evaluated a lot of parameters based on it we got actually had to consider killing the project. But after the meeting we were all pumped up and we started working seriously to cover up all the time we lost. Back to my room, stomach growling, really really hungry and no food left. I dozed off during the dinner break, so missed my dinner and we cant get food from the canteen after dinner hours. Similar was the state of my roommate Anshuman, and when i told him that, he said he had some coffee and milk powder left. So we got some cups, got hot water from the water machine, stole Harika's sugar bag and had a coffee party at 1:30 in the night. Almost melted Anshumans plastic bottle of water when I refilled it with water, and were also joined by Rahul and Sachin. Well finally slept at 2.

Beginin of Roi Heenok

Umm work work work for the 2^nd of feb
And for the 3 of feb - Our first production management class with our new teacher who will stay for a limited time of 2 months and teach us intensively*. We redid the introductions like the first time we came to college, and went on to see a presentation which basically covered the 9 major steps from game designing and marketing to retailers and consumer servicing. We continued after lunch, had a chat with each of us individually to know what the role of each of us is in our current project and what our good and bad points in us were. Also my introduction was as Roi Heenok instead of Rohanak and this guy Roi Heenok is some famous drug dealer and rapper. And our teacher Phillipe Segard took it seriously and started calling me Roi Heenok. Followed in the afternoon with more in depth discussion and understanding of the processes involved. umm watched Chris Rocks and episode 12 and 13 of Smallville and its 2 30 already. time to sleep gn :)

dinner dash

One more holiday, nice lazy Sunday. Again a day full of good games and sleep. Went to a nice French/Italian restaurant "la dolche vita" for dinner called . Met up with Karl, Julien and Sam there. Had some interesting food, had a cranberry breezer, salomon and beef. the beef was some kind of french specialty and my friends liked it a lot, but to me who is used up to all the masalas of Indian cuisine, the taste seemed too subtle to the extent i can call bland.

Rest

A holiday, well deserved, still bearing yesterdays fatigue. Nothing much - good games, good sleep, that's all 4 today.

Rhythm and Hues

Rhythm and Hues was scheduled today as i said...and we were supposed to be in the bus by 9 o'clock...mmm....well i woke up and saw my clock...and it was 9:05....Damn it!... I obviously panicked, realized quickly I didn't have too much time or what if everyone already left, crazy thoughts raced through my mind as i had a quick 20 second brushing. Me still in my night clothes, oh shit!, i take my shirt off and look around for another to wear. Flash our HoD philippe sir is in my room for me, wow i wear some shirt lying around, wear my slippers (no idea what i was thinking), and raced him to the bus. Aaaahhh finally so the bus didn't leave after all :) cool...and so begins my day. wasn't as exciting as i had expected it to be because of the insane traffic jams and it took 5 hours for us to reach - half the time to reach Pune and another half to get past the Mumbai traffic! Stoped at a petrol refill place which had CCD and some other stores. Packed a quick breakfast + lunch pack and got back on. And Rhythm and Hues was a cool place on the third floor of some building, don't remember the name. Umm had a nice presentation on the kind of work they do, about their company, the movies they worked on and had a tour of the work place too (which was like bamboo huts with central A.C, good ambiance). Anyway got back on the bus by 4:30, 5 i guess and headed back to the college. Everyone was damn hungry so we stopped by a food plaza. Had chaat and stuff, checked out the place, had some fun with some duck which came by, LoL. Had a bet of 20 rs for anyone who could go and touch them and 50 rs for anyone who can lift one up (no one won, kinda obvious cause the duck wasn't too friendly snapping at us and all...) back to the bus. Too much boredom = too many dirty jokes = lots of lame games = lot of meaning less laughter... oh well had some fun, back to college , don't remember the time, just happy to be back. And that's the it of that :)

nothing much

Nothing too good about today, just work on the game design document for our project. Got a big day tomorrow, going to rhythm and hues studio in Mumbai. Hmmm, must be fun :).

Art-O-War

After a quick meeting on the current game progress we started off with Adobe Audition. And the first half of the class was just that, sound design by our HoD Philippe Vachey. Next after lunch we had English, which as usual was a bit anarchic, with grammar practice, a story completion and ended with a very good debate on for or against wars.

Animage

It was supposed to be a programming class today by Alexi...but suprise suprise...we instead are divided into 2 teams of 5 each and are taking part in a game designing contest called animage organized by the Times of India group. So beginning from today we work for 2 days a week on this project. For the moment we all had to write game concepts by the end of the first half of the day. I wrote a game concept of car racing with a twist. Won't be writing down what my concept was though. The others made interesting concepts too. Like Pranav made a game concept with the idea of sneaking up on girls. Anyway, after lunch we all had our game concepts analyzed and we found that my game concept was way too complicated to make on flash, given the amount of time we had (27 days - only 2 days working per week). We found Sams game the simplest, so we began work on it which continued till the end of the day. Then some DoTA and more of working, completes today.

Its all Gud

Woke up at around lunch time. Attended my art history class. Had a very interesting discussion on how to improve my communication skills and over all attitude towards everything. Art history has always been free speech and free style kind of class, and most of the time it is short and fun too. then more DoTA, watched star wars episode 5:the empire strikes back and episode 6:the return of the Jedi.

I love Strategy games

We had video reportage today...and we did some group discussion on how the scene script, shoot script and storyboard will be. Tried our hand at using the new HD camcorder. Slept soon, don't know why woke up at 12 midnight and started playing civilization : beyond the sword and before I know it, its already 5 in the morning. Slept again at 5.

Lose Yourself

I remember waking up, gym, eating breakfast and then losing myself for 3 hours... Philippe showed us a 3 hour long video. Queer to the core, cut up, edited and modified in order to achieve this effect. It was one of the most bizarre videos i have ever seen. It made me write a small note after watching it, which is..."trance.... trance ?.... transcending.... transformation.... translating =?... trance... trick ?.... truth... treat ?..." the speakers in the video were very experienced people... who had well pretty well defined personal ideas of what sound and music are. There were people talking about many different aspects of it. One of them was talking of sound in the form of education... like when you teach a kid, his language at about the age of 6, you teach him alphabets first, then words and then sentences. And similarly unless you are "sound conscious" or are basically capable of appreciating it, you should not be exposed to it... One old man quoted a German philosopher's saying that the only two words that do not need reason to cause pleasure were....music....and....laughter....and he bursted out laughing. Well the video was indeed very strange. Many of them talked of Beethoven and Mozart and used big words like time, space and compared it to music...some thing like..."no beginning and no end"... it was a dreamy experience.. magical and sleepy at places too. Well the reason behind this was... for all i could understand, i found it mind boggling... and for all i couldn't understand, i found it extremely boring... well after that we had the English class, where i wrote down the stuff which happened in the previous class, the stuff maam dictated in that class and started doing time pass after that. One of the examples is below...first one by me and the other by noob Aman.

Introduction to Sound Design

One really interesting day today... today we had sound design by Philippe Vachey...the HoD for gaming. Also today was the very first class by him. We were asked to get any kind of materials which make sound. I brought two empty bottles of coke to try and imitate drumming. We had a very powerful sound recorder and all of us began using their instruments to make sounds. Nikhil got the scissors and tried making sounds of the barber cutting hair. Aman got a book which had a plastic cover with very fine lines on it and when you run your nail over this cover, it makes really cool high pitched sounds. Well he used this to imitate mice fighting and running around. Sam tried doing some weird sounds with the harmonium. Pranav got a plastic bag and crushed it to give very interesting sounds. Philippe also showed us to use the plastic bag to show if some one is being chased and how to increase and decrease the speed to give realistic chasing effects. It also seemed very similar to walking on dry leaves. Pranav also used the guitar to make some musical effects. Julien used a toothbrush, spoon fork and his glass mug. He made rubbing sounds with his finger moving rapidly on the toothbrush, he even imitated brushing his teeth to get his desired effect. He hit the glass mug with the spoon and fork at multiple locations to form different sounds. Amol used a thermocol glass and a piece of Jenga wood block (the ones we used to carve out our dice) to make table like sounds, hitting the cup with his fingers for a variation in sound sometimes. Siddesh made a very repetitive two strikes hitting with his spoon and glass which he stole from the mess :P. Karl used a small tube like container with a lid to make poping sounds. He basically pulled out the cap to make a pop sound and quickly put the lid back. Harshal used a one rupee coin to make some interesting sounds. He threw it from a certain height to get a metallic dropping sound. Then he spun the coin very fast and recorded the sound of it slowly stopping and vibrating on the ground. And well about me... well i tried to fill the bottle up and make some whistle like sounds which Nikhil suggested but I failed miserbly. Then i tried to bang the two coke bottles against each other to make some drumming sounds, didnt really succeed in that but well... after a few more tries with it , I was done. In fact it was really funny because Aman and Sam started taking pictures of me playing (i think i looked really retarded here) and philippe was calling everyone maestro. Well good day overall, had a lot of fun... it was to make us aware of something called sound consiousness and that we dont need the real objects to imitate that particular kind of sound with a little funny reference to the Pavlov's experiment... and to keep our mind open to the world of sound, as philippw said ears have no eye lashes...

Mixed Design

We were supposed to finish the mixed design Photoshop assignment and I was supposed to wake up at 4 in the morning. Well i dint wake up at 3 to finish it (which is very usual of me) , didn't wake up at 6 for gym (lazy bum) , finally woke up at 8:30 only for breakfast. Well did some very bad quality work on Photoshop and submitted it off (so sure i m gonna flunk in this one!!!) , spent the rest of the day doing time pass. You guys can laugh your asses off at the image i made.

Teh Seince uff SleePin

A lazy Sunday. Woke up only for lunch and went back to sleep as soon as i finished eating. Woke up again at 6 in the evening...its like a day dedicated to sleeping. Didn't do much later either...played a bit and worked on Photoshop mixed design assignment.

suprise suprise

Oh today was a really fun day. We went to the GA (gamers anonymous) torney for DoTA to Pune and guess what, found that JNP (clan from Hyderabad) was coming, and our first match was against them. Well we obviously didn't stand a chance against them given the level our clan was in at that moment but we had a good wake up call and we learn from every deafeat so... anyway we ate at Subway, practiced a lot after coming back to college that day and won almost every public match played on Garena. Slept late at night cause its Saturday night and didn't care about gym on Sunday either.

Strategizing

All through today we were practicing and planning strategy for tomorrow cause its a DoTA tournament in Pune.... took permission from all the required teachers for it and here goes nothing... the first time we play as a clan...

My funnly lil presentation

Yipeee its all over!!...its finally all over!!...Well the last post was written just before going to give the presentation. We all were very tired already and given such circumstances we had to give a a presentation, so obviously the quality of presentation from everyone was pretty bad in general. Mine was worse though and as usual the most funny presentation too...in fact as i clicked the next slide my audience (my classmates) started laughing, even before I say anything lol... But anyhow i managed to give a 13.5 minute presentation out of the alloted 20 minutes. After the presentation immediately we had lunch. But i was too tired (missed one whole night of sleep) to have any lunch so i went straight to my room to bed. As soon as lunch was over and it was time to go back to class my room mate Anshuman woke me up. Then i met up with Harshal who was waking everyone one. We went back to class only to find out that we had to play poker or any card game for the rest half of the day. I kept eating chips from Pranav and Sam as they played poker and rummy respectively. It was not soon before we were bored and started playing DoTA. I ate a lot of snacks as i dint eat anything for breakfast or lunch, have been working all night long and was really hungry. Soon after i saw the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona which i found was an amazing movie. Had dinner and blackout for the rest of the day.

Burning the midnight oil

Today we had card games with Alexi but because of the internet not working, we started playing a game of texas poker , over the first half of the day before lunch. After the lunch , the internet was back so each of us were given different card games on which we had to research and give a 20 minute presentation on. We stop researching after we realize that we have a lot of work remaining on the game board and start working on it. We worked...we worked...and worked even more....i mean...we just went on working. Well a lot of things did happen whiled we were working and we did receive a battalion of helping hands from the industrial design and animation schools (part of our college). I think we finally finished our board game by 5:30 this morning. We pack it perfectly (as perfectly as we could manage), then all set and done we realize that we haven't put in the rule book. We reopen the packaging, put it in and repack it. Again we realize we haven't put the dice in it, we found the dice lying around on the table, so we open it again and put it back it. Well that's the good part about the packaging (which was done by Inder from ISD), its so easily opened and re shut too, so well that came handy. After that we started working on the presentation we had to give on the card game on the next morning that is err now.... Its already 9:40 and i still have no idea what i am going to give a presentation on....hmmm...lets see how this turns out...writing this just before the class starts....

Lodi/Boghi/Bon fire night

Quite an interesting day today...well lets see, the day begins with my lunch followed by 4 hrs of rigorous work on the game board...then we had a meeting with one of the directors of our institution on the problems we are facing on campus which was quite long and frustrating...had a racial discrimination incident at the same time which we got to light. It ended after about 3 and a half hours at about 9 in the night. Then we lit up a bon fire, Urvashi got the Dhol guys to drum for us and started dancing around the bon fire. Had a little of coke which was spiked with whiskey, played few DoTA matches. Got Asadul to paint the game board for us. I asked him what he wanted in return for all this and he jokingly said he wanted me to take off my clothes and run along the whole corridor. Well i didn't exactly take off my clothes, i only took off my shirt and ran. Aman came exactly at the wrong time and video recorded the whole incident. Well anyway that's the end of it.

boring...

One of the most mentally challenging days apart from programming. we didn't have any programing as we had expected, instead we had level design. Followed by DoTA, and work nothing interesting happened today.

hoggin n shoppin

I am gonna try to keep this post real small. I am kinda late and we have algorithm and programming class tomorrow (have been watching smallville and its already 2am. Hmm so lets see.... Woke up today at 1 pm all alone, went to the bathroom and when i am back out my room was full of friends. Apparently there wasn't any power, which is kinda usual during the Sunday and all of them wanted to go out to eat. So i got into the Innova which was provided to us by the college management directly without any freshing up. We went to SGS mall, McD , ate the french fries and coke routine , then to KFC (for Harika) , went around looking for markers for our board game ,went to Archies , Venus , some electrical shops, had fun going up down the escalator and finally after much looking around picked up some stuff which came closest to what we were looking for. Got some free hugs and took some pics outside SGS , Ansuhman fixed up the Innova which broke down (talk about having cool friends) , back to college , had Harikas tang , played some DoTA , had a lot of fun , and we had our first student body meeting which was really interesting, where we discussed the problems we are facing and not just complaining about them but also providing the institution the solutions as well. Then dinner , more smallville and that's it for the day.

Movies n Muching...

Well I woke up at my usual time (12:45 which some how magically is always the same when i open my eyes in the morning) , didn't have any class today so went about playing , chating and other stuff. Played some fun matches of DoTA , watched 2 movies - Star wars: episode 4 - a new hope and pineapple express, went on a cashew nut eating spree while watching pineapple express (which was kinda challenging cause we couldn't just pop in those nuts , we had to remove some hard ass covering to eat each of them, well anyways). Well wrapped up by 4 in the morning.

dumb awe n shiny disco lights

Well this day was really fun. I woke up at 12:45. Wasn't much choice on what i could do, just brushed my teeth and went down for lunch. Had art history class with Jerzy. saw some really vibrant, exotic as well as dark,nude and gory old paintings... didnt understand the real topic which was on impressionists and expressionists which are basically groups of people (European Art Revolutionists) and styles if i guessed that right, still liked that class a lot. Had loads of fun after that, we were working as well as listening to music, and had our hands pretty much full. As the night went longer we went over slowly to jokes which got dirtier by the minute. Increasing the volume might have had more influence on us than we could have expected, cause Harika got up and started doing some dance moves. Soon I followed and Urvashi joined us and we went on dancing for a while. Archesh came for a while and seeing that the audio output from our lab computers was not good enough we got his speakers from his room. Well fast forwarding.... Sameer came too, lights off, everyone on the dance floor (lab floor), 3 in the night, don't care about anything, found a pair of empty sprite bottles and started drumming out of tune songs, Harika started doing some gud ass shaking belle dancing moves, everyone just lost it and we had a great time. We did some Nepali dance also some Bollywood style dancing because Urvashi knows some good dance moves (she used to go to dancing classes at Shimak Devar's Institute). we went through the corridor dancing and all to Harikas room where we drank a little chocolate milk, ate a few bourbon biscuits and Urvashi's honey and all but didn't go back to sleep, went out again into the corridor, sat down comfortably , Aman left at this point and we were joined by Rachana. Archesh got out his guitar , started playing it, everyone started singing songs and all at 5 in the morning. We lied down on the corridor floor, Harika got a blanket and Urvashi a pillow. Archesh got this crazy idea about spraying deodorant on his guitar and playing it when it is on fire. It started okay and looked really cool but soon after the two strings (the thinnest ones) broke off. So put it inside and got out his sketch book and started drawing Harika who was sleeping on the corridor floor lol!! soon slowly all left and it was 6 30 in the morning now. Whoa what a night man...cool one though...:)...

presentation day

The internet which went off yesterday along with the power cut didn't come back until next morning. So the presentation which was already postponed to today morning was again postponed till 2 pm. We were give the morning to prepare for it to compensate for missing out yesterday. Soon before we knew it, it was time for the presentation. Well, i wasn't as nervous as usual, i think i got a hold of it, even though I didn't know my subject perfectly. It started with Sam next was Aman and then me. I think i started off pretty well, but mid presentation, i got all jerky, thanks to Lionel, who gave interesting bits information on the current version of the game i was talking about. it helped a lot to get me back to the real world. Thinking back it wasn't all that bad. It ended smoothly, then we got some feedback on what we need to improve on etc from both Alexi and Lionel together. And as usual spent the rest of the time playing Dota and CS. Had a small water and toilet paper fight with me, Aman, Urvashi, Rachna and Siddesh. Cleaned up the mess a little bit after that, the room was really stinking. Watched Russel Peter videos on Youtube after that till 3 in the morning. Did more time pass and finally slept at around 4 in the morning :D.

CS day in

The first day i actually had breakfast in a long time. Usually, i wake up either a few minutes before class or exactly at the beginning of the class. Interestingly waking up a bit earlier than the routine, just by chance enabled me to have some yummy dosas. the class for today was case study and we were told that we would have to give a 20 minute presentation by 3 pm. we were asked to chose numbers by Lionel and based on that we got our topics. I got flight simulator games, which i had no idea about. It was crazy Wikipedia reading till 2:30 or so until suddenly the internet stops working. Then a guy walks in to tell us that some xyz happened and the electricity would be gone for half an hour. it was supposed to come back at 3 i.e. But it came back only at 5. rest of the guys were doing their own things, some playing volleyball, i slept off, told my room mate to wake me up if the electricity is back.By the time i wake up its already end of class and Karan, Anushuman and Saket are going out to get some snacks. Its Sakets treat and i join in as soon as i wake up. we travel to a place called Hadapsar in a sharing auto. had some wada-pavs (pretty famous in Maharashtra) and some really tasty sweet paan with a cherry. by the time we got back it was about 6 in the evening and the internet was still not back and everyone was gearing up for some counterstrike action. As the internet was still not back (which was just a reason not to work) i joined in to play. And wow it began at 6 and we were playing non-stop till 9. got up only for dinner after which we started playing again. awesome fun, we played till about 12:30 and had some fried fish and prawns (midnight snacks :D) which Urvashi got for us from Hadapsar. hmm well that's the end of the day slept really early at 1 am and dint watch Smallville at all (which still surprises me).

the accidental holiday

Lets see... hmm... Woke up at 9:30 (class begins at 9:30), brushed my teeth quickly, if you could call that brushing?, and well rushed to class only to find that I am the first one to come in... Soon we found out that our teacher Alexi was feeling sick and couldn't teach today, so we had personal work instead of programing (yipeee). Played Caesar 4, after that for quite some time. Then took a bath and put my clothes for washing and other stuff, lunch after that followed by a few games of dota. then Sam and Nickhil started a cardboard fight which soon followed into a Maaza bottle (read light sabre) fight. I joined in only to get my ass kicked. then Harshal took the an old dsk t-shirt and started using it as a whip. Crazy time as usual for gamers. Worked on the game board a little followed with some good games of counter strike (got my ass pawned again). Watched smallville as usual and end of the day. Thinking of the whole day back, for my blog, i guess that was pretty much the ideal holiday for a gamer though accidentally ;)) hehe.

lol i told u gud nite...hehehe....didnt go back to my bed though. aaahhh juz watched another episode of smalville with Aman (about 45 mins) . Its almost 3 am now. I have to stop saying gud nite and not going to sleep. OK! gud nite now. Time to sleep. Nothing else.

OMG i dont know what the fuck happend in the last 1 hour or more but both me and Aman decided to do at least a little bit of work for today on our game board. And LOL ! work was it? hahaha we were laughing hysterically at everything, it felt as if we were suddenly high or something (like we breathed in some laughing gas??) and we went nuts over everything. We were listing the animals which have to be printed and I don't really understand how it all started but, slowly (probably cause of my laziness/insanity aura combo) we started acting like drunken drugged people. While we were searching, we found an image of two kangaroos lying on their back in the open, and we started thinking of ourselfs in their place, Aman even said something like "now i am gonna show you how to use photoshop and edited that image replacing thekangaroos face with mine!!( i will upload the image the original not the edited one!) I absolutely had to write this down, though i juz posted an hour ago. oh boy its 2 am in the morning now (just realised i had to set the time in my blog), gotta go sleep now....enough laughing for a day, and O shit, tomoro is algoritms and programing shit (i hate programing, even though i am fascinated by the taughts of being able to code and decode your own programs). The Beginning....

I begin my post feeling lazier than usual, as i haven't posted anything in my blog for the last two days, I begin to wonder what to fill in today.
And as several attempts to recollect how the last 2 days have passed haven't yielded any result, i simply conclude that they must have passed by with me greeting everyone back to college with a "Hey!!! Happy New Year", "How are you?" and "What did you do for New Year Eve??".
All i remember about yesterday is that I went along with my friends Sameer and Harika to a place called Kamat (which is a restaurant) for breakfast at 12 noon. Well... we didn't exactly decide to go to this place though, we just started walking along the highway, stopping by and looking at every small cafe that comes along our way, in the hot mid day sun, bearing with all the guys on motorbikes spamming their horn at Harika, which she surprisingly was ignorant of. Filnally after about 1.5 kms of walking we reach this place called Kamat which was decent enough, we sat, ordered and went on talking on the usual stuff collegers talk about. We got our dosas and Harika got her Pa Bajji (umm details arnt really necessary but well... when i will look back years later, i may find it funny?). Umm Harika paid my bill too (best part), we got into a sharing auto rickshaw and got back to college.
That was the first part of what i remembered and the second part is watching Smallville in the lab till late night. Well smallville is "Smallville is an American Television series developed by writers/producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on the DC Comics character Superman character Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Smallville premiered on October 16, 2001, and completed its seventh season on May 15, 2008" word to word, copy pasted from wikipedia (i love wiki). Well its basically Superman's story when he was younger and i've taken a liking to it (fantasy freak).
Ummm and about my first day of second semister, well it was ok i guess, photoshop isnt my forte but i tried to mix 2 pictures - jet plane and cycle into one. It looked like an object stuck together with glue, oh well have to work on it and finish it by the next class which is 2 weeks later (xD). Spent the rest of the afternoon playing civilization 4 very seriously, i like the game and evidently it showed on clock. It was 8:30 when i quit playing, went down for dinner and continued playing, after that watched more of smallville with Aman (the guy who got me hooked on to this), yeah and that it for today...opps its already 6 Jan AWWW i wanted to finish on 5th itself....oh well i dont have the best track record when it comes to sticking to schedules .... err which reminds me its been 2 weeks and i havent worked at all, hmmm why dosent that suprise me anymore?...dono... maybe cause i've always been like this but like Shah Rukh ( i m NOT a fan) says in OSO it all falls in place in the end...gud night n c ya fans ..um i meant myself (??? no ones reading my blog yet ??? grrrr) :P

My First Post!

Aaaahh finally I created my own blog!... wanted to create one since 2 years... lazy me...
Oh well... so this blog starts during my second semester in college, no yet to start cause i am back at my college hostel 2 days before it starts. So lets see... about me well... i was an above average kid back at school though i flunked both my 11 and 12, i still managed to get into collage cause i passed their entrance exam and impressed (now that's a big word so got them interested?.. maybe) my interviewers and so here I am.
